Square Hints at FFVII Remake for PS3

Are you one of those die-hard FFVII fans who’ve desperately wanted the remake of this game on the PS3? Well, this is probably the most concrete answer Square will ever give on the matter.

Famitsu recently had the chance to sit down with some big wigs from Square Enix to talk about the possibility of a Final Fantasy VII remake on the PS3 as well as other projects.

They sat down with executive producer Yoshinori Kitase, producer Hideki Imaizumi, and director Hajime Tabata.

They also sat down with character designer Tetsuya Nomura.

They talked about future games for Square Enix as well as Crisis Core on the PSP. They stated that Crisis Core pushed the limits of the PSP as it filled up an entire UMD-rom.

When asked about future projects, Imaizumi stated that the Final Fantasy VII remake will be a question of timing. The other 3, Kitase, Nomura, and Tabata are all working on the Final Fantasy XIII game at the moment.

It is also a known fact that Kingdom Hearts 3 is in the works, whether it be for the PS3 or Wii is not yet known though.

There are no plans as of right now according to Imaizumi for a remake of FFVII but the good news is that when the timing is right, it seems that it may happen.
