New Famitsu Scans featuring Kingdom Hearts
News scans have come about from the latest issue of Famitsu featuring the latest on the three Kingdom Hearts titles revealed at TGS this year. More information below.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PlayStation Portable)
Scans: 1 | 2 | 3
- Developed by the team who made KH Re:CoM (PS2) located at the Osaka S-E branch.
- The game features three different scenarios, three main characters, and you can play any of them in any order.
- The battle system is like a mix of CoM’s abilities/skills in the form of card decks and KH’s normal controls.
- Nomura’s evolution from what he used in CoM and It’s A Wonderful World really shows in this game. BbS uses random elements and timing based gameplay.
- Nomura: “The story is complex in hope to capture a variety of imagination because of each character whose story is serious.”
- Nomura: “The growth system hasn’t been done before so a novel idea has been adopted.”
Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days (Nintendo DS)
Scans: 1 | 2 | 3
- This game is developed by h.a.n.d, the company responsible for making Chocobo DS.
- The multi-player gameplay is all mission based, and your friends can play as any of the Organization XIII members.
- The cutscenes are comparable to Crisis Core, in terms of people knowing how the game will end but not how it will flow.
- The meaning of the game is more understandable after clearing the game. In Nomura’s interview, he speaks of the game as if it’s a code (that you must crack).
- Self-explanatory: Roxas enters into the Org. scene, and Roxas and Axel conversation scene.
- The daily life of the Organization XIII is shown.
- Nomura: “The reason why this came off the main story is because it’s about Roxas’ story in the one year that Sora is asleep and his time in the Organization. He then gradually begins to have doubt and leaves the Organization.”
- The 14th Org. woman member, whose characteristics are hidden, is not Namine’.
Kingdom Hearts: Coded (Mobile Phone)
Scans: 1 | 2
- This game is developed by the FFVII:Before Crisis team.
- The Disney worlds will be available as individual downloads.
- The setting involves Sora’s memories being accessed through a computer. It can be compared to CoM’s scenario in that case.
- The graphics uses 2-D sprites on 3-D backgrounds to allow both high resolution/spec and low resolution/spec phones to be supported.
- Planned to be released internationally, hence the focus on compatibility.
- Nomura: “It is close to being compared to FF:Agito 13, and the concepts in development are like playgrounds like Disneyland.” (Or does Nomura mean, the different sections of the park such as Tomorrowland and Frontierland?)
- Nomura: “It’ll be explained why there was a King and Riku at KH.” (From KH1’s ending.)
- Nomura: “Coded will have a simple button operation from the cell phone and will also have a newer element.”
- Nomura: “I want to go into the world of the player to make the best use of the communication as a function.”
