We’ve already had a few big announcements this year from Square-Enix, including the unveiling of their new franchise, The Last Remnant. But Square Enix may have a few more surprises up their sleeve before the year is out; one of which may involve the announcement of Lord of Vermillion, a title recently registered with the Japanese patent office.
Evidently, the veteran RPG publisher successfully registered the trademark on September 27, but that’s the only information we have at this time. But while we have no idea what platforms the game may be for, or when we can expect details on the project, we do have history on our side. Old-school gamers may remember the old Sword of Vermilion, which was developed by Sega and released on the Mega Drive way back in 1989. Therefore, there is some precedent here, even though Sega and Square Enix are two different companies.
We’ll have to wait and see what Square Enix is planning, and whether or not it has any connection to Sega’s old game.

As many of us should know, Square Enix is one of the biggest videogame publishers in the world and is made up of two of the oldest and most-revered gaming companies. The pair has weathered many changes in the gaming industry, both separately and together. Now the union is preparing for the next phase in its grand plan: to significantly increase its presence outside of Japan.
Regarding this plan, IGN had a chance to interview the CEO of Square Enix North America and European operations & Executive Officer in Japan, John Yamamoto.

On December 27, a limited edition bundle will arrive alongside the release of Star Ocean: First Departure. The bundle will cost slightly less than the Final Fantasy-themed one that’s been tearing up the charts, and so far artwork on the limited edition PSP is a mystery.
Like the Crisis Core bundle, there’s no word on a domestic release. With the Star Ocean series less pervasive than Final Fantasy, it’s unlikely we’ll see a whopping 1800% jump in sales, but the bundle is sure to excite some fans regardless.
If you haven’t already, you can watch the trailer of the game here.

As you can see, there’s a new layout up on the site.
Though, for Internet Explorer users, I apologize for some weird distortions on the navigation bar.
For the most part, the site is mostly functioning. There is a new feature, the radio, that I plan to put up soon but I need to set up a few things before that can happen. When it is online, there will be track rotations from the various games’ original soundtracks or theme songs, those of which are featured on the site. The rotations will most likely be monthly based. Look forward to it!
I’m still recoding and creating pages to be up to date as often as I have time for it. But due to some time constraints, I’m lagging behind on that. But rest assured, the site will, at the least, be fully functioning with new content before the year is over.
